The holiday season is quickly approaching and parents are on the hunt for gifts for their friends and family members. This year has been a crazy one! Many local businesses have been hit hard. I know as a busy mom, I am often relying on Amazon or Target for my online shopping. One of my goals this holiday season is to do more local shopping to support small businesses!
Stellar Speech Therapy is based in Del Ray, Alexandria. We love our little neighborhood! Before COVID, we spent a lot of time in our neighborhood stores and restaurants in Del Ray and Old Town. I wanted to share some of our favorite local shops you can support this holiday season.
Red Barn Mercantile – Old Town Alexandria
Red Barn has a little something for everyone! You can grab gifts for kids and adults at this wonderful store. They sell home decor, kitchen items, outdoor items, bath and body, paper items and all things kid-related! I might have to grab this adorable reindeer for my daughter! Bellies and Babies offers consignment clothing for pregnant mamas as well as baby and children’s clothing! As we know, pregnant mothers and children grow quickly. It can be hard to keep up with clothing sizes and changing seasons. Bellies and Babies is also offering virtual shopping at the moment! We love this option to shop from the comfort of your own home. The Purple Goose – Del Ray Alexandria

I know I am guilty of using Amazon for my book purchases, so finding local book stores is definitely on my to-do list. This independent and local book store is the perfect place to pick up some new books for children and adults. Before COVID times, they offer story time at their store.
